The new building on the banks of the Ebro next to the Helios Sports Center will be finished later this summer. This leisure centre will be used mostly as a place to celebrate weddings and different types of ceremonies. CN Helios is the other owner of the building that will use it to expand its facilities.
The new building that is being built on the banks of the river near the Almozara bridge will open in September. «We are a little behind schedule because of various problems, but we hope to finish by the end of the summer,» said Mariano, one of the workers employed in the construction of the leisure centre. The building will be used mainly for holding major events and banquets. «The new catering business installed here will be called Aura, and they hope to work in various confirmed events during the first fortnight of September,» Mariano said.
«The sports sections of rowing and canoeing needed a warehouse to store all of the necessary equipment,» said Jose Luis Bentué, president of Helios. CN Helios will also be part owner of the building; this land has been conceded to the club by the Council of Zaragoza for a period of 75 years.
«In addition we will create a canoeing training area within the building so that when it rains canoeists can train inside the building,» Bentué said.
Ebro Space 2008 is responsible for the construction of the building and has invested about €7 million in this project. This company will manage the hotel complex Aura as well as the 7,000 square metres loaned from Helios.
